Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Is California King here different from a standard King?

Yes. The maker lists California King at 72 by 84 inches and Eastern King separately at 76 by 80 inches. Use the actual longer/narrower footprint for bedding and base planning.

Is this a compact bed to inflate for visitors and pack away?

It is a layered permanent-bedroom air-support system with dual chambers and controls, not a documented lightweight guest airbed. Keep it out of a frequent-carrying shortlist.

Can I filter it by an exact 14-inch mattress height?

The manufacturer heading says 14 inches, but its size table says 13. Obtain the exact current configuration specification before using a strict height limit.

The InnoMax Medallion California King is an adjustable air-support mattress system for a permanent bedroom, rather than a deflate-and-pack guest airbed. The documented 72-by-84-inch California King option and separate air chambers are relevant when two sleepers want individual settings. They do not make this system a substitute for a portable camping mattress or an automatically pressure-maintained temporary bed.

Start by choosing the right type of product

The manufacturer's Medallion digital-air page describes a layered mattress with internal air support, adjustable controls and comfort layers. It belongs in a comparison of assembled bedroom systems. Someone whose questionnaire starts with carrying a bed to a campsite or storing it after a weekend visit is considering a different category.

The California King option is explicitly72 inches wide and 84 inches long. That is longer and narrower than the separate76-by-80-inch Eastern King listed on the same page. The words King and California King should not be merged, and neither size should inherit the other's foundation or bedding assumptions.

Separate chambers address a couple's different preferences

InnoMax states that its King and Queen mattresses have two air chambers and describes separate control over the two sides. For a couple who disagree about support settings, that is a more relevant distinction than merely buying a larger mattress. It gives each side an adjustment route rather than requiring one shared air setting.

The manufacturer describes 50 digital set points. A number on a controller is a repeatable setting within that system, not an independently measured comfort grade. It also should not be compared numerically with another brand's scale as though both use the same method. We have not measured pressure distribution, sleeping temperature or partner movement, and do not adopt clinical or snoring claims from the marketing comparison table.

Comfort layers are part of the choice

The page describes an accessible pillowtop and layers including latex and Memory-Cell material. That makes the surface construction part of the decision as well as the air support beneath it. A buyer who dislikes the feel of a particular upper layer may not solve that preference simply by changing the air setting.

Ask about the exact assembled configuration, removable components and what is supplied in the quoted package. The manufacturer discusses a foundation, but the existence of foundation information does not prove that every offer includes it. A California King system should be planned as a mattress, support base, inflation/control hardware and compatible bedding rather than as a single portable bag.

Resolve the published height before choosing sheets or a frame

The maker's page heading calls this a 14-inch Medallion, while its size table gives 13 inches for the California King and other options. The digital-air category repeats the 14-inch name without resolving that conflict. We therefore retain the documented width and length but do not use an exact mattress height as a hard fit value.

This matters if a particular fitted sheet, headboard or frame requires a precise thickness. Obtain the specification for the actual configuration you intend to order. Adding a foundation's height to a guessed mattress thickness would only create a more convincing-looking error. The same caution applies to a maximum load and packed weight, neither of which is established for this selected configuration here.

Our assessment

Compare this California King when you want a bedroom air-support system with a documented longer footprint and individual settings for two sleepers. Keep it separate from temporary guest-bed and camping results. Before buying, resolve the height discrepancy, base/package contents, electrical arrangement and seller terms for the actual configuration. A sophisticated controller and layered construction are meaningful design features, but they are not evidence that this system will provide a specific medical benefit or feel ideal to every sleeper.
